李孟贤骤逝 传深夜超市采买突倒地

(综合报导)旧金山市长李孟贤（Ed Lee）今（周二）凌晨惊传心脏病发去世，享寿65岁，消息震惊旧金山政坛。无论李生前的民主党战友，或是共和党政治人物，都纷纷表达震惊及慰问之情。旧金山市府更降半旗，哀悼李的骤逝。
据《旧金山纪事报》报导，李孟贤于昨晚（周一）10点半左右，在位于格伦公园区（Glen Park）自家附近的Safeway连锁超市采买期间突然倒地，被紧急送往车程约12分钟的萨克伯旧金山总医院（Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital），可惜仍回天乏术，于周二凌晨1点11分宣告不治。据报导，他过世时，有亲友在侧。
出生西雅图的李孟贤是移民之子，在家中六个孩子中排行老四。他的原生家庭并不宽裕，但他天资聪颖，获奖学金入读大学，毕业后更获加州大学柏克莱分校法学院录取，最终成为出色的民权律师，为低收入户喉舌，最为人所知之一是1978年代表旧金山中国城低收入大楼平园住户，向房屋署争取加强保安。
从律师转战政治的李孟贤是旧金山首位亚裔市长。2011年时任旧金山市长的纽森（Gavin Newson）获选加州副州长，当时是旧金山行政官的李于是辗转成为暂代市长。他并表示不会参选下任市长，但受到已故华裔领袖白兰（Rose Pak）、前旧金山市长布朗（Willie Brown）等人力劝，他最终于同年11月竞选市长成功。当时，反对党还批评他，认为他表明不会参选却还是参选，是食言了。李再于2015年角逐连任胜选。他任内致力于扶植旧金山科技业蓬勃发展，并积极打造多个集床位与辅导于一的游民「导航中心」，对抗旧金山游民问题。
他去世后，身后留下香港出身妻子Anita及两女Brianna及Tania。(10:50更新)

《旧金山纪事报》（San Francisco Chronicle）引述市长办公室声明报导，李孟贤在旧金山时间凌晨1时15分逝世于“祖克柏旧金山总医院”（Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital），至亲好友等陪伴在侧。
声明中说：“我们以无比哀伤和沉痛心情证实，李孟贤市长与世长辞。” 声明中并未透露死亡的原因。
2011年，李孟贤当选旧金山市长，成为这座和华人渊源深厚城市的第一位民选华裔市长，也是第43位旧金山市长，旧金山人口逾85万人。2015年，李孟贤轻松赢得连任。
李孟贤辞世后，暂由旧金山郡政委员会主席布里德（London Breed）代理市长。
另据美国有线电视新闻网（CNN）指，旧金山前市长布朗（Willie Brown）向CNN旗下的ABC7 新闻透露，李孟贤是死于心脏骤停（cardiac arrest）。
由于李孟贤先前未传病痛，死讯传出后，各界惊愕。根据李的办公室先前公布行事历，李原订今天在市政厅举行会议。
李孟贤祖籍台山，在西雅图出生，曾担任民权律师，1980年开始任公职，是旧金山市首位的华裔市长，任内致于解决无家可归问题。
