2017年3月24日，海南省文物研究会会长、收藏家、企业家张士兴正式出任世界华文大众传播媒体基金会副主席。
张士兴先生60年代初出生于安徽阜南县农村，1983年10月在天津工作，由于工作突出，1987年3月单位派他到内蒙古巴盟地区调研60年代中后期被组织下放的一批返乡人员政策落实情况，在临河市逗留期间得到海南建省办经济特区的消息。同年7月独自到海南考察，1988年初正式到海南新单位上班。在内蒙临河市短暂工作期间，张士兴先生有幸接触到国家511地质队的工作人员，得到他后来才知道属于红山文化时期的玉器。从此，他爱上了玉，与玉文化结下不解之缘。
1989年，现任美国华人医师会会长王元聪博士和太太云香女士给张士兴牵线搭桥，把自己的好友黄玉青女士介绍给张士兴。黄玉青女士的父亲黄强是海南建省后第一任书协主席，海南书法的奠基人。1993年初医院确诊黄强先生癌症晚期，他希望女婿张士兴能够传承他的艺术生命，1993年4月25日下午黄强先生因病去世（2013年在黄强先生去世20周年前夕，张士兴先生倡议并出资在黄强先生故居修建了“黄强书法艺术馆”，由中国书协副主席、海南省书协主席吴东民先生题写馆名）。
2015年2月1日，原中国书法家协会理事、海南省政协委员、海南省书法家协会主席黄强先生“黄强书法篆刻作品陈列室”，建在文昌市东郊，对外开放。

1993年11月，张士兴先生到海南省建行人事处工作。繁忙的工作中始终不忘岳父黄强的嘱托，利用出差机会寻找接近艺术家。为使岳父黄强先生的遗愿得到落实，实现自己对艺术的追求和梦想，1998年4月，张士兴先生毅然决然辞去建行工作下海经商，他的举动至今令很多人不解。
2004年初，在与藏友的聚会中，他提出设立艺术品研究平台。经过两年的努力，“海南省文物研究会”经省民政厅批准成立，2008年10月，张士兴先生正式担任海南省文物研究会法人、会长。为做大做强文化平台，提升自身文化素养，更好弘扬民族文化，2008年3月，张士兴先生到清华大学美术学院高端培训部学习艺术品鉴赏、艺术品投资等，一学就是6年。2016年1月担任清美艺术品鉴定评估研究会常务副会长、理事长。海南省文物研究会2016年5月被中国检验检疫学会艺术品产业诚信发展委员会聘为常务理事单位。为使自己的藏品有一个好的归宿，丰富发展海南华侨文化、弘扬少数民族文化等，张士兴先生根据自己收藏品的种类，批准成立了海南省当代艺术博物院、海南省华侨博物院、海南省雕塑艺术研究院、海南省民俗博物馆、海南省自然博物馆、海南省黄花梨艺术博物馆、海南省黎锦艺术博物馆、海南省海捞瓷博物馆、海南省黎药南药博物馆等九个类型的博物院（馆），共有各类藏品2万余件。

2011年5月30日至2016年底，海南省文物研究会出资先后与中央电视台、海口市人民政府共同举办大型科普类节目《寻宝》走进海口。在海口太阳城大酒店举办“中国（海南）首届民间国际古陶瓷、汝瓷研讨会”；举办海南红木国际研讨会；与海南省文体厅、海南省博物馆、海南省书协举办“翰墨飘香黄强书法回顾展”等。2011年开始，张士兴先生先后多次率团到欧洲、美国、加拿大、马来西亚、新加坡、台湾等国家和地区考察文化产业发展，学习博物馆建设管理先进经验。2015年9月开工建设的海南省黎锦艺术博物馆项目总投资2.3亿元人民币，已完成65%的工期，预计2017年底竣工投入使用，其它馆舍正在做项目立项工作。
目前，张士兴先生在文化部艺术发展中心与西安交通大学开办的“艺术金融”博士班学习。
